  • 8 to 12 months before the wedding – First of all you need to set the wedding date and then the place where the wedding will take place. Keep in mind that the period from July to September is the busiest in terms of weddings, so the first step is to reserve the place. Choose a location that matches the number of guests. Bring together the two families to establish the wedding and reception details. It is time to determine where the wedding ceremony will take place. Reception and menu have the most important role in your wedding budget. This is the first step you should include in your wedding checklist timeline, because it may take a while until you find the right venue, and even when you do, a lot of details will have to be dealt with afterwards.
  • 5 to 8 months before – During this period it is time to think about your wedding outfits, wedding dress, groom suit. See more stores to get an idea of the new trends and prices. You can also use the internet. Try more wedding dresses and also, opt for a tailor, thus you will have the advantage of having the dress of your dreams.
  • 3 to 5 months before – Your checklist with the wedding planning timeline has reached the half and it is time to choose and order the invitations, table cards and begin to send them or personally hand them. Research and book: a DJ, bands, videographer, photographer, florists, caterers, etc. You must not forget planning the honeymoon. Purchase the wedding dress or start dress fittings and buy the groom’s suit.
  • 2 to 3 months before – Send the last invitations. Make an appointment for hair and makeup. Decide on the menu and decoration possibilities. Maybe you have to purchase jewelry, accessories and gifts for godparents and guests. Get your marriage license.
  • 1 to 2 months before – It is time to think about the wedding cake if it is not included in the menu. Buy the wedding rings, order the bouquets and wedding candles. Hire a professional choreographer to learn some waltz steps for your special dance.
  • 2 weeks before – Your checklist with the wedding planning timeline is approaching the big day. Contact your service providers for confirmation. It is time to enjoy a bachelorette and bachelor party. Confirm your honeymoon. Set a schedule for your wedding day for not to worry about any delays.
  • Wedding day – Do not rush when taking the pictures, whether you opt for a photo studio or take pictures somewhere outdoors. Everything was planned to the smallest detail, so there is no need to worry about anything. And most importantly is to enjoy your special day and feel good.

These are only the essential steps in planning a wedding. However, unless you have a wedding planer make sure that you include all the details of this day in your wedding checklist. In order to ease some of the burden you could ask your bridesmaids to handle some of the less important aspects. Make sure that they understand what they have to do and that they stick to your plan. Planning a wedding can be exhausting but if you do it right you will have nothing to worry about during this special day.
